Who we are
My Money Mate is the seller and operator of the My Money Mate personal finance software, and acts as the data controller for the personal data described here — meaning we decide why and how that data is processed.
What we collect and why
- Contact details (name, email address) — to deliver your purchase, send your receipt, and answer support requests. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Financial entries you type in (amounts, categories, descriptions, dates) — to provide the dashboard's core function. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Usage and device data (pages viewed, browser and device type, approximate location, IP address, error logs) — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- Support messages — to investigate and resolve the issue you contacted us about. Legal basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interests.
- Marketing emails, only if you opt in. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We never ask for and never receive your bank credentials or full card details. Payment data is collected directly by our Merchant of Record.
Who we share data with
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, which sells the product on our behalf and handles payments, invoicing, tax compliance, and billing support.
- Service providers and subprocessors — hosting, database, analytics, and support tooling providers who process data only on our instructions.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers, where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose data by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account and purchase records for as long as your access is active and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. Usage logs are kept for a short retention window. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on stored records, to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.
Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage to keep the app working — for example to remember the entries you add in the interactive demo, which stay on your own device. Any analytics or marketing cookies are only set with your consent, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. If you are in the UK or EEA you may also complain to your local supervisory authority. We respond to requests within one month.
Contact
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a question about this notice, contact us at the support address shown at checkout. For billing or invoice data held by Paddle, see paddle.net.
